W3Techs ForumConfusing/Unhelpful Site Error1682 on 30 March 2015, 10 years ago When posting a new topic on the forum for the first time your comment (understandably) needs to be moderated before it is made public. However, when you submit the topic the page redirects you to where the post would be published but instead displays a catch all error: Page not foundThis page does not exist. There can be several reasons for that:
Please use the menu to continue exploring the site. While the error is correct, this message is somewhat confusing and I think it would be better if when the server saw the post was unpublished it issued a "This topic is awaiting moderation" message or something similar instead. When I got this message I assumed the page had failed to load and accidentally double posted my topic. Sam Soltano (site administrator) on 19 April 2015, 10 years ago Thank you very much for your feedback. We have improved the behavior as you suggested. You need to be logged in to reply. |
