Forum > SSL Certificate Authorities > Topic SSL Certificate Authorities ForumCertificate validationSam Soltano (site administrator) on 12 February 2015, 10 years ago We started to exclude invalid SSL certificates from our statistics. We check now if the domain of the certificate matches the domain of the websites, and if it doesn't (which is surprisingly often the case), we label it as "invalid domain". We used to count these certificates for the issuer in the past. Similarly, we check for expired certificates and don't count them in our market share statistics anymore. As a consequence, we see a drop of the usage figures of almost all the SSL certificate authorities, and also significant changes in the market shares. We are sorry if that causes any confusion, but we think that these changes make our statistics more useful. You need to be logged in to reply. |
