Forum > Operating Systems > Topic Operating Systems ForumTechnology proposal: Markancarda on 30 March 2013, 12 years ago My proposal is simple: Track IPv6 implementation. I used to do this but it became tedious as my scripts never updated correctly. Additionally, it only tracked around 200 domains. It's a very simple procedure; Using dig or similar, request AAAA records. If there is 1 or more records returned then that domain can be marked as having IPv6 support. However, not everyone dual stacks the root, so checking www is advisable. Why it should be added? IPv6 is critical to the future of the internet. Advocates and early adopters of IPv6 would love to be informed when a top site is now using it - Currently it's only a handful. Sam Soltano (site administrator) on 30 March 2013, 12 years ago Thank you for that proposal. We do already track IPv6 usage. You can find the data here: IPv6 You need to be logged in to reply. |
