Forum > Image File Formats > Topic Image File Formats ForumTechnology proposal: SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics)Edward Gore on 10 November 2012, 12 years ago Homepage: http://www.w3.org/Graphics/SVG/ SVG is a W3C graphics standard, and is superior for many types of graphical content, i.e. diagrams, maps, logos, etc. Most modern web browsers include at least partial support for SVG. Modern text fonts are usually implemented on a vector graphics-type of technology so that they can be scaled to larger point sizes without becoming jagged on their edges. Maps, logos, diagrams, etc. benefit greatly from being enlargeable without losing detail of lines, shapes, etc., or becoming jagged. Please give SVG serious consideration. Thank you. Sam Soltano (site administrator) on 10 November 2012, 12 years ago Thank you, Edward, for that proposal. While one could argue whether or not SVG is an really image file format, I think you are right. It makes sense to include it in this survey. We will have a look on how that can be done.
