Historical DataPosted by Sam Soltano on 14 December 2009 in NewsSummary: We start presenting historical data of our technology surveys. Sometimes, the changes of data over time is more interesting than the absolute value. We believe this adds a new dimension in our surveys. We are excited to announce this new feature, which you can find in the left hand side menu of the technology surveys, e.g. in the Operating System report.
You can see historical trends for technologies, for example our Linux distribution survey. You can also see historical data for technology versions, for example changes in the latest Apache web server versions. Like our technology reports, the historical reports are updated daily.
To be honest, our website is relatively young, therefore the amount of historical data we can show right now is modest. Nevertheless, we decided to go online with that feature, because we start seeing interesting trends. Furthermore, the significance of the data will improve every day.
In some categories, we have not yet collected sufficient data for the historical reports. We will add those categories in the future.
