We recently introduces technology breakdown reports. We have extended that section now with reports showing technology usage broken down by ranking. That means, you can see which technologies the top performing websites are using compared to the other sites.
Sometimes, top performing sites seem to be faster in adopting new trends, for example we see that the top 1.000 sites use significantly more Unicode that the top 1 million sites. Other reports really indicate the different technological needs of top performing sites, for example the usage of server side languages clearly shows a much higher usage of Java by large sites.
Whatever the specific reasons for these differences are, we believe that these new reports give very interesting insights into the usage patterns of web technologies.
